1) Can my baby wear the necklace while sleeping?
Some feel more comfortable taking the necklace off whenever the baby is sleeping. We have taken the advice of our Austrian friends and left it on Lily 24/7, except for bath or pool times, and we have had no worries, scares or problems. The choice is yours to make, whatever is going to make you feel comfortable.
2) Can my baby wear the necklace in water (bath tub, swimming pool, ocean, etc.)?
I recommend removing the necklace during bath time, in the swimming pool, any prolonged contact with water, as the cord may become brittle over time with prolonged exposure to water. The cord is knotted before and after each bead, so if it does break, only one bead will be loose, not the whole string of them. If it does break, please return it to me and I will replace it for free.
3) When can my baby start wearing the necklace?
The necklace may be worn starting at 8 weeks of age. Children typically wear them through age 2, until the teething process is complete. The earlier the baby starts with the necklace, the easier it becomes a part of them. They are so used to it being there, that they don’t pay attention to it by pulling on it or attempting to bite it. Be prepared to receive compliments on how cute the baby looks in his or her necklace. Some children are so used to wearing them that they don’t want to take it off until they outgrow it!
4) Will one necklace last me through the teething process?
Yes. The necklace has been designed for babies and is extremely durable. The care you give it will make the difference. One necklace will last for years. You could pass it on to the younger siblings, but the original ‘owner’ may not want to share!
5) How does the amber necklace compare to the gels and other medications used for teething?
The amber necklace is non-intrusive. It is known to take away the symptoms of teething, i.e.: pain, fevers, diaper rash, drooling, sleepless nights and irritability. The gels and fever reducers last only a short time and have to be re-administered. Some babies have reactions to the gels. The only product that covers all the symptoms is the amber. For the parents that came to use my necklace after suffering through the other products, they have found great relief for their baby, as well as themselves!
